Museum about our freedoms then and now
In Hof van Nederland you will experience how we in the Netherlands deal with our freedoms, then and now, told from different perspectives. On the basis of important historical events that are important for Dutch history and which largely took place in Dordrecht, the oldest city in Holland, you will learn more about our freedoms. You will also take a look at the present and gain a better understanding in what freedom means for you. In this way we want to achieve that you cherish your own freedom and respect that of others.
In the museum all object text signs can be read in English by scanning QR codes. All the other texts and audiotours in the Museum are in English and the movie has English subtitles.
Must see in Dordrecht
Find out what beautiful historical Dordrecht has to offer and which places are worth a visit! In the midieval city centre there are three museums which are worth a visit, all in walking distance:
Dordrechts Museum - 6 centuries of Dutch art with a permanent collection and temporary exhibitions.
Huis Van Gijn - step back into the 19th century and see how upstairs and downstairs lived and worked.
Hof van Nederland - a historical museum in which you experience how we, in the Netherlands, deal with our freedoms, then and now, told from different perspectives. For children there is a ball pool, an escape game and a special Griffioen tour.
Tip: book a day ticket with which you can visit 2 museums on one day.
